Book TAG: Pokemon Go Book Tag

I’m sure you’re all well aware of Pokemon Go by now. You can have your own opinion but please no hate or judgment here please! I was not a pokemon fan when I was younger. I liked the movies but the game could never hold my interest and I got bored easily. I still have that problem today so I’m glad that this game doesn’t bore me and I’m actually able to get out of the house more to play the game. I’m currently obsessed with catching them all.

This tag was created by Aentee @ Read at Midnight so go check out the original for fun! Here we go!

Note: Pokemon Go belongs to Nintendo and Niantic. These graphics are from the original TAG and created by Aentee.

I want to say Harry Potter but I know I had been reading well before that. The first book I can remember going back to reread all the time was Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. I was obsessed with that book for a long while.

Which starter pokemon did you guys choose when you started Pokemon Go? I picked Squirtle because I think he’s adorable. At the time of writing this I’ve also caught a Bulbasaur but I have yet to see a Charmander.

I think I’m going to have to go with The Chronicles or Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Sure I could also pick Harry Potter for this answer but I feel like Harry Potter can be picked for every answer so I try to go with a different option. I just loved the whole idea of Narnia even though it’s based off of religion. Normally I find religious books too pushy but this one is super subtle and I love it!

I’ve caught one Pikachu in game so far but I also got another in an egg which was pretty cool. I’m excited for when I get to evolve him because he’ll be well used for battles I’m sure.

I’m honestly getting a little tired of Victoria Schwabb. I’ve only read A Darker Shade of Magic and it didn’t really blow me away. I’m just tired of all the hype surrounding her and it’s making me lose interest in all of her books.

I’m surprised that Zubat was picked for this question. I actually don’t see very many! I haven’t even gotten to evolve mine yet, though I’m very close! I think different regions have different popular pokemon. For me, I see Weedles and Rattatas the most I think. I’m getting a little tired of seeing them.

I think with this I’ll have to go with Sea of Shadows by Kelley Armstrong. Sure it’s not 100% different and original. It feels like a lot of other YA fantasy books because it has similar tropes. I still think it’s different enough for me to love though. Also I’ll love anything Kelley Armstrong writes.

I’m not even sure if this pokemon is in game at the moment because I don’t think anyone has seen him. Maybe in a future update?

I think The Outlander Series by Diana Gaboldon is a good pick for this question. Why are there so many books?! I have a feeling I’ll really like it but I just don’t have that much time to dedicate to reading it. Especially when I still haven’t finished A Dance with Dragons yet, which is another huge book.

I haven’t see a Snorlax yet but I’ve heard of some hanging out around my area. I’m hoping to catch one soon because he mostly just makes me laugh.

Hmm this is a tricky one. I think the most recent book that keep me up way past my bedtime was Painting Sky by Rita Branches. I fell in love with her writing style and there was no way I was putting that book down.

I haven’t seen this guy in the wild yet! I have a couple Gastlys but that’s as close as I’ve gotten. Hopefully as I level some more I’ll be able to find him.

Oh gosh there’s too many. Right now I’m thinking Elena/Clay from the Women of the Otherworld series, Mercy/Adam from the Mercy Thompson series, Cinder/Kai from The Lunar Chronicles, and Vhalla/Aldrik from Air Awakens. There’s like 50 other though.

I’ve seen a few of these guys around and I do have an evolved form of one. I’m excited to level them some more though!

I’m picking Air Awakens by Elise Kova for this one. I was on the edge of my seat for all five books in that series. There was nothing predictable happening and so many plot twists! I couldn’t put the book down!!

I have a Ponyta but that’s as far as I’ve gotten with this guy. I love him though! I think he’s one of my favs.

Probably The Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong She still writes short stories but I think she’s going to be done soon. That world is so big that I don’t think I could ever get tired of reading them. It’s also a favourite so that helps.

I’ve seen quite a few Eevees around thankfully because it’s a good pokemon to have. I have just learnt about the evolving trick and I’m hoping to try it out soon.

I wasn’t expecting to love Red Rising by Pierce Brown as much as I did. (Though I haven’t read the last book yet!) I can’t tell you why I loved it so much but I think it was just so full of action that I couldn’t help but devour it.

I’ve only seen one Magikarp so far during my pokemon journey. I need 400 candies to evolve him though. 🙁 That’s kind of a lot.

I thought Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kauffman was overhyped but I ended up liking it anyways. I’m even more excited to read Gemina and it comes out soon! I can’t wait! I really love the formatting in that book. I personally haven’t read anything else like it.

I heard a rumor that legendary pokemon are going to be introduced in the next update! Who else is exited?!

I’m only starting to now collect Jane Austen books. There’s so many gorgeous editions that I need to have them all on my shelves. I would also like some Harry Potter collectors editions too. I would never say no to those.

I’m hoping these guys are in game soon because I think Mew is adorable and we need more adorable poekmon.

I’m kind of excited for Seeking Mansfield by Kate Watson. It’s a Mansfield Park retelling and if you know me at all you know how much I love retellings. Especially a Jane Austen one!

I’ve been doing good so far with eggs. I’ve only gotten one 10km egg though which disappoints me because everyone else has no problem getting tons. I did get a Scyther from it which was good. I’m still trying to power him up but I keep running out of stardust! How do you guys do it?!

This goes to Kelley Armstrong for sure. Do you ever just fall in love with an author and refuse to not buy all their books? That’s me with Kelley. I just can’t help it.

I find these lures are the best way to get pokemon. There have been lots of parties with these near me thankfully. There’s always someone putting them up somewhere. Which is good because I find they don’t give you a whole lot in game.

How about Strange Fate by L.J. Smith. How long have we been waiting for that one now? Nine or ten years? I don’t think it’s actually going to ever happen which makes me VERY sad.

Unfortunately this is common occurrence in pokemon. I don’t see how this issue hasn’t been fixed yet and I’m very disappointed. I work in the IT field so I can understand how difficult running a game like this would be, but being able to connect to the server should be a top priority! I feel like if this goes on much longer then they will loss a ton of people.

      • Me too.😿 She created an amazingly complex Night World that it’s hard to remember the details.. I don’t think I can re-read all 9 books when/if the time comes that the last book will(maybe not) be released…😮
