Posted April 17, 2016 in Uncategorized / Leave a comment!

Hey guy! I used to do a new releases post way back when and I kind of just stopped doing it for whatever reason. I think it was because I did it monthly and that was just too much. I’m going to try to do one of these posts every season.

I don’t know about you guys, but it’s posts like this that make me add so many cool things to my TBR. That’s why I thought I would share with you what books I’m looking forward to this spring so that maybe you add something you haven’t heard of to your TBR. Let’s get started shall we?!

1. Forest of Ruin by Kelley Armstrong – Released April 4th

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

This is book three in the Age of Legends Trilogy and one I have been waiting for for a while. It’s about two twin sisters who end up homeless after their town is destroyed by some crazy undead monsters. They spend the first two books trying to figure out who they can trust and who they can’t. There’s adventure, mystery, betrayal, and even some romance to keep you entertained throughout the whole series. I know I’m not the only one eagerly awaiting for this book to arrive in my mailbox.

2. Flamecaster by Cinda Williams Chima – Released – April 5th

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

This is a new to me author with a brand new series. This one is about a healer out for revenge and a girl on the run who end up crossing paths and working together. It’s set in the same world as the authors’ previous books only seven generations later. I’m really looking forward to starting this new series because it looks like it’s a darker book which I’m always excited for.

3. Water’s Wrath by Elise Kova – Releases April 26th

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

This one is already preorder and hopefully on its way soon! I can’t tell you how excited I am for this book. This is the 4th book in the Air Awakens series but not the last. The series is about a young girl, who normally fears the mages, ends up joining them as she discovers her powers. She’s taken from her world as a library apprentice and shoved into a new one as a mage. You can only imagine how that would go. I highly recommend this series and you should all go pick it up right now!

4. The Island by S. Usher Evans – Releases April 26th

Genres: Young Adult, Romance

Normally I’m not big into romance books but I’ve felt like reading them a lot more often lately. I follow this author on Twitter and she mentioned this book to me as a book coming out this month. It’s about a prince and a captain from two different places who crash on a desert island together. One is great at healing and the other is great at surviving so they have to mix their skills together to stay alive. Fun Fact: This is actually the beginning of a new series!

5. Heir to the Sky by Amanda Sun – Releases April 29th

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

I loved Amanda Sun’s previous series and can’t wait to see how great this one is! It’s about a girl who the heir to a kingdom that floats in the sky. She falls off this island in the sky and somehow manages to survive so this book is about her trying to get home. Only it’s not so easy because she learns that there are actually people living the earth along with some crazy monsters like chimera, storm dragons, and basilisks which only makes getting home more difficult.

the rose and the dagger

6. The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh – Releases May 3rd

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy, Fairy Tale Retelling

This is the second book in the Wrath and the Dawn series which I have recently fallen in love with. Normally hyped up books don’t go over well with me but I loved this one. The first book is a retelling of A Thousand and One Nights. It’s about a boy king who marries and kills a new girl every night and a girl who volunteers to be his bride so she can kill him. My summary really can’t do the book any justice.

the star touched queen

7. The Star Touched Queen by Roshani Choksi – Releases May 3rd

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

This is the story about a girl with big dreams who is then forced into an arranged marriage. She’s trapped in a new kingdom with tons of mysterious and she can’t trust anyone except her husband. It’s also full of Indian mythology and if you’ve been on my blog before then you know how much I love my mythology books. The reviews so far have all been great and I can’t wait to have this one!

the crown's game

.The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye – Releases May 17th

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy, Historical Fiction

This book is about the only two enchanters(mages?) in Russia who are set to compete against each other to be the Tsar’s right hand. Too bad Nikolai (enchanter #1) and his best friend are both falling for Vika (enchanter #2) and Nikolai has to kill her in this competition or be killed himself. Are you intrigued?

9. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas – Releases May 17th

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

This is book two in the Court of Thorns and Roses series, which I just read recently and loved. It’s about a girl who is forced to go live beyond the wall where the faeries live. It’s even more dangerous than she thought because she learns that a darkness is taking over this land and she needs to try and stop it before it flows out beyond the wall into the human land. Not only that, but we meet some very interesting characters on the way.

10. Return to the Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz – Releases May 24th

Genres: Middle Grade (ish), Fairy Tale Retellings

Have you seen the Disney movie Descendants? If so this is a companion series to that movie. The first book was a prequel to the movie and it looks like this one comes after the movie. I think it’s a fun idea to have books and movies go alongside one another. The whole series is about the children of all our favourite fairy tale heroes and villains. The son of Belle and Beast, daughter of Maleficiant, son of Jafar, and daughter of Mulan are a few characters we get to see.

Talk to me! Are you also really excited for one of these books? Is there another book you’re eagerly awaiting this spring? Let me know in the comments below!
