Hello everyone! It’s Thursday and that means it’s Book Traveling Thursday time! For those of you that don’t know, Book Traveling Thursday is a feature created by Catia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to show off beautiful covers and also different covers from around the world. You can join the GoodReads group if this is something you’d like to participate in.
This week’s theme is: Because some books have amazing villains, choose a book with a character you love to hate. I always try to pick lesser known books for these features and also books that I know have been published in lots of different languages so they have different covers. It’s no fun picking a book that’s only ever had one cover.
Today I’m featuring A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. There’s kind of multiple villains sometimes in this book but the biggest one is probably Circe who is a powerful witch. Even though she’s completely evil I love to hate her because she’s a villain that used to be a good person at one point but then magic destroyed her. There’s just something about her that makes her an evil person but not in a murderous kind of way.
I’m trying something different this week. The Canadian cover is almost always the same as the original/american/the cover we always see. So I’m going to be showing you the French Canadian cover which is also usually the France cover because we share.
My favourite (Besides the original)
This is another English version. It’s the prettiest besides the original which is my #1 favourite.
My Least Favourite
This is an Indonesian version which I think looks pretty horrible. Especially compared to the English editions.
German, Spanish, Turkish, Czech
Which one is your favourite? Have you read this series? If not you really should!
