Top Ten Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds

Wow this was a tough one! It’s sad to think that so many of the characters we read about aren’t book nerds like us! Sometimes it just seems like they are anyways though. For those that don’t know, here’s a little information about Top Ten Tuesdays:

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week we will post a new Top Ten listΒ  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It’s a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.
I had a really hard time thinking of some of these characters and I feel like I’m pushing it a little bit but I needed to fill all my ten spots! Here’s what I came up with:
1. Hermione from Harry Potter: Obviously the first book nerd we all thought of right?
2. Tyrion from A Game of Thrones: I feel like he’d make a great book blogger if he was in our world.
3. Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice: I had to pick a classic! She’s like the first book worm character.
4. Clay from Bitten: Not quite a book nerd like us, he actually reads to learn. How gross right? But he’s incredibly smart and talented so reading got him somewhere!
5. Diana from A Discovery of Witches: She actually works in a library because she loves books so much! That’s the dream!
6. Katy from Obsidian: Not only is she a huge book nerd, but she’s also a book blogger! Even better!
7. Cress from Cress: She doesn’t have much else to do in her tower.
8. Celeana from Throne of Glass: She’s a badass character and I’m glad she likes something as quiet as reading.
9. Ashyn from Sea of Shadows: You don’t see her read much in the book but she’s great at pulling facts from thin air. She reminds me a lot of Hermione that way.
10. Sydney from Silver Shadows: Another one who reads for learning. Not quite my thing but I respect it!
Belle from Beauty and the Beast
Rory from Gilmore Girls

  1. I ALMOST put Katy on my list… but I didn’t like that book, so I guess that’s why I didn’t. My favorite thing about it was that she was a book blogger!!! That was cool. I didn’t even think about Cress, but yeah… what else was she going to do up there?

  2. I so considered Katy from Obsidian, and I’m so glad you did! I couldn’t think of other book bloggers in books, but I bet she’s not the only one. And OMG I can’t believe I forgot Sydney- great choice! When I remember reading Discovery of Witches I always think of the library scenes so Diana makes perfect sense here! Thanks for sharing your faves πŸ™‚

  3. I definitely agree on Katy, Elizabeth, Hermione, Sydney, I believe I have them on my list as well, or on honourable mentions. πŸ™‚ And Cress! I can’t believe I forgot her! Great list! <3

Great picks! I didn’t even think of Sydney but I should have! I did include Katy from the Lux series — I love seeing her on many lists today!

    My TTT

  5. I’m SO impressed by everyone who was able to do this topic today! We totally chickened out this week. I have the WORST memory when it comes to details like this in books, so I came up with two and decided this week’s topic just wasn’t for me. LOL Fantastic job! πŸ™‚

    • I went through a lot of other posts to find them all haha There was also a TTT a few months ago where we picked characters who had the same hobbies as us and I luckily remembered it and took a few from there.

I think your list is the first instance I’ve seen Tyrion listed and I am shocked as I thought he would be as popular as Hermione lmao.

  7. I wish I’d read Cress so I could have added her- I saw her everywhere this week! I think I need to read a few of these others too, like A Discovery of Witches, it sounds so good (and fine, I like the cover!) Great list πŸ™‚

    • Cress is a good one to read for sure. A Discovery of Witches has tons of history in it so if you like all that stuff then it’s the book for you πŸ™‚ plus it’s got a pretty cute romance.
