I had high expectations going into Daughter of the Pirate King and I hadn’t seen many advanced readers so there wasn’t many reviews I could read before starting it. I just thought that any book featuring an epic female pirate would have to be good, right? I wasn’t wrong. I hate it when books with great concept end up being disappointing. Thought the writing was gorgeous, the actual plot and characterization was poorly executed. Pretty writing isn’t enough to make up for a bad story sadly or else this would have gotten a higher rating.
