ARC Review: The Union (Madion War Trilogy #3)

ARC Review: The Union (Madion War Trilogy #3)

I think that this was a wonderful ending to a series I quickly fell in love with. It’s been so consistent which is fantastic because it has never been disappointing to me. The plot continues to be mostly fast paced and the characters grow steadily throughout the whole series. It was those characters that really made me stick with this series until the end. It’s hard reviewing the end of a series because I don’t want to give anything away. While I love Theo and think she’s a fantastic character, there will always be a spot in my heart for […]

Book Review: Living in the Shallows (UK Crush #1)

Book Review: Living in the Shallows (UK Crush #1)

I feel like this is one of those books that I probably wouldn’t usually like, but for whatever reason at the time that I was reading it I actually enjoyed it. I’m not usually a big fan of contemporary or romance stories but this one was kind of fun to read. It was about a girl who ends up finding a job as a translator to a super famous boy band and she becomes friends with them. It’s like a fantasy come true for some people! The band actually reminded me a lot of One Direction (probably because they were […]

Book Review: Dawn Study (Soulfinders #3)

Book Review: Dawn Study (Soulfinders #3)

This is a series that has been very close to my heart for a long time. I’m pretty sad that it’s over and I hope that there will end up being more. This was a great finale for this series. I felt happy and sad all at the same time because we started off our journey with these characters when they were pretty young. Now they’re all grown up and it makes me feel good (yet very sad!). I laughed along with these characters, I teared up a bit, and I possibly had a couple heart attacks, but I made […]

Book Review: The Thousandth Floor (The Thousandth Floor #1)

Book Review: The Thousandth Floor (The Thousandth Floor #1)

This is a book that I went into with high expectations and it probably wasn’t a good idea. I didn’t not like this book but I didn’t really love it either. I really loved the idea of all these people living in a giant tower. That was great but we didn’t really get to see much of it. We saw bits and pieces of it but we didn’t learn anything about how it came to be or how it even works. It felt like we were expected to know this place already and even though it was set in New […]

ARC Review: Frostblood (Frostblood Saga #1)

ARC Review: Frostblood (Frostblood Saga #1)

I had high expectations for this book only because a lot of fantasies have been letting me down lately. A lot of them are blending together and aren’t as memorable as I want them to be. This book exceeded all my expectations and I loved every minute of it! Think along the lines of Throne of Glass mixed with Snow Like Ashes only not as disappointing or predictable. Sure some parts I totally saw coming but most of the book was a happy surprise. It’s a series where I’ll be waiting desperately for the next book. My favourite part about […]

Book Review: The Star-Touched Queen (The Star-Touched Queen #1)

Book Review: The Star-Touched Queen (The Star-Touched Queen #1)

I hate it when books with great concept end up being disappointing. Thought the writing was gorgeous, the actual plot and characterization was poorly executed. Pretty writing isn’t enough to make up for a bad story sadly or else this would have gotten a higher rating. Honestly I gave this book an extra star just for the writing alone which was probably bad of me. Oh well! I did appreciate all the diversity in this book as well but once again, it couldn’t make up for the bad plot. Side note: there was a super cool talking horse that I […]

ARC Review: Love and First Sight

ARC Review: Love and First Sight

I loved the whole idea of this book. You could tell that the author really did his research about visually impaired people because it felt realistic. There was no face touching (which I never knew if people actually did that or not) but the main character was able to make lots of jokes about his situation. He was a guy that had accepted blindness was a part of him instead of being cranky and cynical all the time. It made him an easy character to like. The group of friends that our main character mad were also pretty cool. I liked […]

Book Review: The Unfailing Light (Katerina #2)

Book Review: The Unfailing Light (Katerina #2)

I think I liked this book more than the first. It was easier to follow (thankfully) and I was starting to remember a few more characters. There’s still a lot going on that I don’t understand and I’m still confused since there’s still a lot of characters but I found myself more entertained by this book. I’m really liking the main characters. In this book especially I wasn’t sure who to trust. Some characters who I thought were doing ok weren’t and the opposite for others. I have serious trust issues after reading this. I am really happy with how […]

Blog Tour: Thanks A Lot, John LeClair

Blog Tour: Thanks A Lot, John LeClair

Hello lovelies and welcome to my stop on the Thanks A Lot John LeClair blog tour! Thanks A Lot, John LeClair is a young adult contemporary book that just so happens to feature hockey (one of my favourite things). I didn’t think I’d like a sports book like this but the characters were just so well done that I couldn’t help but love their story. You can see my full review here, but here’s a recap! Who I’d Recommend To I’d recommend this to those who are on the hunt for diverse reads (an LGBT relationship is seen during this […]
