Book Review: Conviction (Razia #3)

Book Review: Conviction (Razia #3)

This series just keeps getting better the more I read which was exactly the case with Conviction. As much as Razia drives me crazy, I also really love her. I love all the characters honestly. They all have such different personalities and they’re hilarious when they interact together. That’s probably my favourite part of the whole series. I like how there’s these little bits of humour even when we’re in the middle of a really intense scene. It makes the story a lot easier to read. Speaking of story, I especially liked the plot in this book. Razia starts slipping […]

Book Review: Alliances (Razia #2)

Book Review: Alliances (Razia #2)

Second books are often diagnosed with second book blues. For some reason they have a hard time living up to the expectations of the first book. I’m happy to report that Alliances did not fall victim of this horrible disease! I’m actually surprised at how much I loved this book. I’ve never been a big sci-fi person and bounty hunting has never interested me before. Somehow, in Alliances, it just all makes sense to me and I think it was a lot of fun to read about. In Alliances we get introduced to a new character, Lizbeth. I didn’t like […]

Book Review: Double Life (Razia #1)

Book Review: Double Life (Razia #1)

This is a tricky review to write because I loved Double Life a lot and I’m trying really hard to not ramble on about things nobody would understand. I wasn’t expecting to love Double Life as much as I did. I was confident that it would be a 4 star read (partially because I’m not much of a sci-fi reader) and was pleasantly surprised when I was easily sucked into the world of bounty hunting and planet excavation. My favourite part of Double Life was easily the whole bounty hunting aspect. I can’t tell you why, but I loved it. It […]

Blog Tour: Jadeite’s Journey

Blog Tour: Jadeite’s Journey

Hello lovelies and welcome to my stop on the Jadeite’s Journey blog tour! Excerpt Jadeite glanced around at the people huddled together in small clusters. That’s when she realized the spot where they’d slept was empty. Malachite had vanished. She scanned the room, but he was nowhere in sight. He was not in the 3 alcove to her right. W hat if he’d gone outside? H er stomach twisted. She wouldn’t put anything past Malachite. She hurried to the main entrance, where a small group of men remained. She was about to turn back when one man stepped aside. Malachite slipped […]

Book Review: The Thousandth Floor (The Thousandth Floor #1)

Book Review: The Thousandth Floor (The Thousandth Floor #1)

This is a book that I went into with high expectations and it probably wasn’t a good idea. I didn’t not like this book but I didn’t really love it either. I really loved the idea of all these people living in a giant tower. That was great but we didn’t really get to see much of it. We saw bits and pieces of it but we didn’t learn anything about how it came to be or how it even works. It felt like we were expected to know this place already and even though it was set in New […]

Book Review: Gemina (The Illuminae Files #2)

Book Review: Gemina (The Illuminae Files #2)

Gosh. This book was just as good, if not better, than the first book. I can’t even explain to you why. There were problematic parts but I was just SO entertained the whole way through that I couldn’t help but give this book five stars. There wasn’t a single chapter that wasn’t filled with action. I found that this book even had a few horror elements (the gross worms if you’ve read it) which I actually liked even though I was terrified. It was nothing too horrible this is a YA book after all. I feel like the format of […]

Book Review: Rook by Sharon Cameron

Book Review: Rook by Sharon Cameron

For some reason the main male character in this book reminded me of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. But in a good way? Very strange. I really loved him though and I’ve added him to my book boyfriend list. He was such an interesting character! You could never tell if he was lying or tricking someone (most often he was) but at the same time he could really surprise you! He really made this book for me. I loved our main character as well. I loved that she was always underestimated for being a girl but she was still […]

Book Talk: The Heir (The Selection #4)

Book Talk: The Heir (The Selection #4)

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I thought the first part of this series was ok but I think I liked this book a little bit more than the others. I thought it was cool seeing the selection in the point of view of the person who was doing the selecting. I can tell being on either end is hard but this was a different perspective. I really liked seeing the characters from the other books grown up. I thought it was really fun seeing them all a little older though it was frustrating because they all still acted […]

Book Talk: The Jewel (The Lone City #1)

Book Talk: The Jewel (The Lone City #1)

I don’t know if there was all that much I liked about this book. It wasn’t bad exactly but it had no wow factors for me. The beginning was interesting but as soon as our main character left her prison and moved to the city, it went downhill pretty quickly. First of all, I really can’t enjoy books about teen pregnancy. I just can’t. Plus add to that that these girls don’t have a choice but to get pregnant for someone else? That’s just not a fun thing to read about AT ALL. “The Selection meets The Handmaid’s Tale”? More like The […]

Book Review: The Gender Game by Bella Forrest

Book Review: The Gender Game by Bella Forrest

This book started out a bit rocky for me but I actually really enjoyed it once we moved settings. I thought the idea of the two countries was really cool. One country is basically ruled by women and men don’t have any rights. The other country is the complete opposite. It’s actually a really cool concept and it shows us why this could never work in reality these days. I really enjoyed the second half of this book. I liked all the action and sneaking around that was happening. Our main character is sent on a mission and it was […]
