Book Review: Seven Days of You

Book Review: Seven Days of You

I’m disappointed. After reading the synopsis of Seven Days of You I was expecting a contemporary I’d at least like. I’m generally pretty picky with my contemporary books but this one sounded unique which is why I requested an ARC of it. My first and biggest problem I had with Seven Days of You is the setting. Seven Days of You takes place in Tokyo. I was expecting lots of vivid descriptions because how many YA books take place in Japan? I should have kept my expectation A LOT lower because it didn’t feel like we were in Japan at […]

Readalong: The Island by S. Usher Evans

Readalong: The Island by S. Usher Evans

Hello lovelies! I’m super excited to be participating in this readalong! I first read The Island last year (I think?) and just recently finished the trilogy. It’s one of those series that was consistent the whole way through which I was super thankful for. Now I get to share my love of this series with all of you by reading the first book in the trilogy, The Island, together! What is it? This is a month long readalong for The Island by S. Usher Evans (which is free, links below). We’ll be reading 5 chapters a week (they aren’t that long really) in […]

My Year in Books 2016

My Year in Books 2016

Hello lovelies. At the beginning of 2016 I started a few challenge and made some goals for myself. This is how I did and I’m pretty proud of myself for reading as much as I have. You can see my End of the Year Book Survey or check out my Top 16 Books of 2016. GoodReads I completed my goal of 90 books and went above and beyond! I honestly wasn’t expecting to read so much this year but I somehow read 43,236 pages! How incredible is that! However, this means I have higher standards for 2017. Once Upon a Book […]

Book TAG: Gilmore Girls TAG

I first saw this TAG on Bookables YouTube channel and I thought it would be fun since the Gilmore Girls revival just came out! If you’ve seen the revival and would be interested in a discussion post please let me know! Lorelai: a character with a witty or sarcastic sense of humour Theo from The Island: She’s brave, strong, tough, but also a little sarcastic and a lot hilarious. Or I find she’s funny anyways. She doesn’t have quite the same humour as Lorelai but she’s great anyways. Rory: your favourite classic book Emma by Jane Austen: I love a lot […]

Beat the Backlist: Intro & TBR

Beat the Backlist: Intro & TBR

Beat the Backlist is a new challenge I’m adding to my already huge list of yearly challenges. It’s similar to Rock My TBR so I’m hoping to combine a lot of those books. Basically all we have to do is read books that were published prior to 2017 so that we’re reading more than just new releases. It’s hosted over at Novel Knight so go check out her blog to see even more info. I’m not making a full TBR because I never stick to them anyways. I have decided that I’m keeping my goals fairly low so that I […]

Read-Them-All-Thon: Wrap Up

For those of you who didn’t see this around the Twitter-verse, ReadThemAllThon was a Pokemon inspired readathon. It was 3 weeks long and hosted by Aentee @ Read at Midnight. I had so much fun participating because it was based on a points system. You got points for how many pages you read and how many badges you completed. You can see my TBR pots here and that will give you more info about how this readathon was set up. The readathon is now done so I thought I’d share with you all how I did! Here is my final […]
