Book Review: Conviction (Razia #3)

Book Review: Conviction (Razia #3)

This series just keeps getting better the more I read which was exactly the case with Conviction. As much as Razia drives me crazy, I also really love her. I love all the characters honestly. They all have such different personalities and they’re hilarious when they interact together. That’s probably my favourite part of the whole series. I like how there’s these little bits of humour even when we’re in the middle of a really intense scene. It makes the story a lot easier to read. Speaking of story, I especially liked the plot in this book. Razia starts slipping […]

Book Review: Alliances (Razia #2)

Book Review: Alliances (Razia #2)

Second books are often diagnosed with second book blues. For some reason they have a hard time living up to the expectations of the first book. I’m happy to report that Alliances did not fall victim of this horrible disease! I’m actually surprised at how much I loved this book. I’ve never been a big sci-fi person and bounty hunting has never interested me before. Somehow, in Alliances, it just all makes sense to me and I think it was a lot of fun to read about. In Alliances we get introduced to a new character, Lizbeth. I didn’t like […]

Book Review: Double Life (Razia #1)

Book Review: Double Life (Razia #1)

This is a tricky review to write because I loved Double Life a lot and I’m trying really hard to not ramble on about things nobody would understand. I wasn’t expecting to love Double Life as much as I did. I was confident that it would be a 4 star read (partially because I’m not much of a sci-fi reader) and was pleasantly surprised when I was easily sucked into the world of bounty hunting and planet excavation. My favourite part of Double Life was easily the whole bounty hunting aspect. I can’t tell you why, but I loved it. It […]

Book Review: A Darkness Absolute (Casey Duncan #2)

Book Review: A Darkness Absolute (Casey Duncan #2)

Kelley Armstrong is not one to disappoint and A Darkness Absolute was no exception. It’s different from a lot of other books she writes because usually they’re focus on paranormal. I think it’s great that she can write books like this one that involve lots of mystery with her usual hint of romance. I love the whole concept of Rockton in A Darkness Absolute (and the previous book of course). It’s a secret town that’s run by everyone in it and (lucky us) we get to see more of how it works in A Darkness Absolute. Everyone has to work to […]

ARC Review: Frostblood (Frostblood Saga #1)

ARC Review: Frostblood (Frostblood Saga #1)

I had high expectations for this book only because a lot of fantasies have been letting me down lately. A lot of them are blending together and aren’t as memorable as I want them to be. This book exceeded all my expectations and I loved every minute of it! Think along the lines of Throne of Glass mixed with Snow Like Ashes only not as disappointing or predictable. Sure some parts I totally saw coming but most of the book was a happy surprise. It’s a series where I’ll be waiting desperately for the next book. My favourite part about […]

Book Review: Gemina (The Illuminae Files #2)

Book Review: Gemina (The Illuminae Files #2)

Gosh. This book was just as good, if not better, than the first book. I can’t even explain to you why. There were problematic parts but I was just SO entertained the whole way through that I couldn’t help but give this book five stars. There wasn’t a single chapter that wasn’t filled with action. I found that this book even had a few horror elements (the gross worms if you’ve read it) which I actually liked even though I was terrified. It was nothing too horrible this is a YA book after all. I feel like the format of […]

Book Review: Rook by Sharon Cameron

Book Review: Rook by Sharon Cameron

For some reason the main male character in this book reminded me of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. But in a good way? Very strange. I really loved him though and I’ve added him to my book boyfriend list. He was such an interesting character! You could never tell if he was lying or tricking someone (most often he was) but at the same time he could really surprise you! He really made this book for me. I loved our main character as well. I loved that she was always underestimated for being a girl but she was still […]

Book Review: Night Study (Soulfinders #2)

Book Review: Night Study (Soulfinders #2)

I can’t even explain to you all how much  I love this series. I’m so glad I finally picked this up, but horribly sad that the next book isn’t out yet. This is a really great series for binge reading! I really happy that we get to see Yelena again in this series! I’m also really glad that we’re learning so much more about Valek! The character development continues to surprise me because all of these characters are so well written! We’re also meeting some new characters and really getting to know some old ones which makes it a nice […]

Book Review: Betrayals (Cainsville #4)

Book Review: Betrayals (Cainsville #4)

I feel like I need to stop reviewing Kelley Armstrong books because I swear all my reviews are the same. I can’t help but fall in love with her writing as soon as I read the first line. This book was no different. I was a little disappointed in the last book because it felt like the plot and characters weren’t going anywhere. That was probably because it was the third book in the series and that happens. I was much happier with where this book ended up. I felt like some characters (*cough cough* Gabriel) finally started getting themselves […]

Book Talk: Shadow Study (Soulfinders #1)

Book Talk: Shadow Study (Soulfinders #1)

I think just about everything will fit under this section. I really missed Yelena and Valek and I’m really glad that I got to go on another adventure with them. You know how sometimes when a series gets longer or when an author adds another series it can get long and tedious? That doesn’t happen here. Especially if you read the three series in the correct order. You don’t have to read them in order but I think it really helps. I could read about Yelena and Valek all the time because they’re just such great characters and there’s so […]
