Book Review: Fusion (Razia #4)

Book Review: Fusion (Razia #4)

Fusion is the conclusion to the Razia series (fear not, there’s short stories too!) and it was exactly as good as I thought it was going to be. There’s something about this series that makes me unable to put it down. Something different and special. Maybe it’s because I’ve read nothing like this before or maybe it’s just super awesome. I think it’s most likely a mixture of the two. Razia has finally grown up in Fusion. She doesn’t have much of a choice because **SPOILER** **END OF SPOILER** This makes it so she has to start getting it together […]

Book Review: Conviction (Razia #3)

Book Review: Conviction (Razia #3)

This series just keeps getting better the more I read which was exactly the case with Conviction. As much as Razia drives me crazy, I also really love her. I love all the characters honestly. They all have such different personalities and they’re hilarious when they interact together. That’s probably my favourite part of the whole series. I like how there’s these little bits of humour even when we’re in the middle of a really intense scene. It makes the story a lot easier to read. Speaking of story, I especially liked the plot in this book. Razia starts slipping […]

Book Review: Seven Days of You

Book Review: Seven Days of You

I’m disappointed. After reading the synopsis of Seven Days of You I was expecting a contemporary I’d at least like. I’m generally pretty picky with my contemporary books but this one sounded unique which is why I requested an ARC of it. My first and biggest problem I had with Seven Days of You is the setting. Seven Days of You takes place in Tokyo. I was expecting lots of vivid descriptions because how many YA books take place in Japan? I should have kept my expectation A LOT lower because it didn’t feel like we were in Japan at […]

Book Review: Alliances (Razia #2)

Book Review: Alliances (Razia #2)

Second books are often diagnosed with second book blues. For some reason they have a hard time living up to the expectations of the first book. I’m happy to report that Alliances did not fall victim of this horrible disease! I’m actually surprised at how much I loved this book. I’ve never been a big sci-fi person and bounty hunting has never interested me before. Somehow, in Alliances, it just all makes sense to me and I think it was a lot of fun to read about. In Alliances we get introduced to a new character, Lizbeth. I didn’t like […]

Book Review: Daughter of the Pirate King (Daughter of the Pirate King #1)

Book Review: Daughter of the Pirate King (Daughter of the Pirate King #1)

I had high expectations going into Daughter of the Pirate King and I hadn’t seen many advanced readers so there wasn’t many reviews I could read before starting it. I just thought that any book featuring an epic female pirate would have to be good, right? I wasn’t wrong. While some plot points were a little predictable, I found the whole story to be really interesting. Basically the whole plot is about Alosa being “kidnapped” when she really planned the whole thing so that she could look for this mysterious map piece. Most of Daughter of the Pirate King is […]

Book Review: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Book Review: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

This is an extremely difficult review to write because of all the hype surrounding this book and the sensitive topics. For the most part, I enjoyed The Hate U Give. There were things I liked and things I didn’t and there was still some problematic areas. I’m going to try my best to explain the jumble of thoughts swirling in my brain as I finished this book. These are all opinions though and I’ve focused on the book itself, not the issues surrounding it. I liked the ideas of The Hate U Give. I loved that it’s about the Black […]

Book Review: Double Life (Razia #1)

Book Review: Double Life (Razia #1)

This is a tricky review to write because I loved Double Life a lot and I’m trying really hard to not ramble on about things nobody would understand. I wasn’t expecting to love Double Life as much as I did. I was confident that it would be a 4 star read (partially because I’m not much of a sci-fi reader) and was pleasantly surprised when I was easily sucked into the world of bounty hunting and planet excavation. My favourite part of Double Life was easily the whole bounty hunting aspect. I can’t tell you why, but I loved it. It […]

Book Review: Inspire (The Muse #1)

Book Review: Inspire (The Muse #1)

I was gifted this book during a secret santa exchange because I was told I would like it. Well congrats to my secret santa because she wasn’t wrong! I’ve been starting to venture out of young adult books and moving into new adult and adult. Possibly because I’m getting a little older so my reading is doing the same. I really liked that Inspire was a new adult book because it’s just kind of nice to read an older, more mature romance book every once and a while. I was also a really big fan of the characters and if you know […]

ARC Review: The Union (Madion War Trilogy #3)

ARC Review: The Union (Madion War Trilogy #3)

I think that this was a wonderful ending to a series I quickly fell in love with. It’s been so consistent which is fantastic because it has never been disappointing to me. The plot continues to be mostly fast paced and the characters grow steadily throughout the whole series. It was those characters that really made me stick with this series until the end. It’s hard reviewing the end of a series because I don’t want to give anything away. While I love Theo and think she’s a fantastic character, there will always be a spot in my heart for […]

Book Review: A Darkness Absolute (Casey Duncan #2)

Book Review: A Darkness Absolute (Casey Duncan #2)

Kelley Armstrong is not one to disappoint and A Darkness Absolute was no exception. It’s different from a lot of other books she writes because usually they’re focus on paranormal. I think it’s great that she can write books like this one that involve lots of mystery with her usual hint of romance. I love the whole concept of Rockton in A Darkness Absolute (and the previous book of course). It’s a secret town that’s run by everyone in it and (lucky us) we get to see more of how it works in A Darkness Absolute. Everyone has to work to […]
