You’re going to see quite a few Harry Potter posts over the next month. Mostly because there’s more fanart for those books than any other books I’ve seen! Also partly because it’s the best and some of this artwork was too gorgeous to not show you all. This piece of art features my favourite character from the Harry Potter series. You won’t know her very well if you’ve only seen the movies but in the book she’s 10x more badasss. She’s fierce, strong, and loyal, some of the best qualities you could possibly ask for in a female character.

I give you Ginny Weasley! This piece was done by LaGelian, who you can visit over on DeviantArt. This is a reference to the later Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling where Ginny becomes a member of the Gryffindor quidditch team. We’ve since learned that she moved on from Hogwarts to become a member of the all female professional quidditch team. Go Ginny! My favourite part of this piece is her hair near the bottom. I love how it almost looks like it’s turning into cloth. It’s a gorgeous effect. This piece was made using: graphite pencil, color pencil, marker, and gouache.
About Harry Potter and the Philospher’s Stone
Harry Potter thinks he is an ordinary boy. He lives with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and cousin Dudley, who are mean to him and make him sleep in a cupboard under the stairs. (Dudley, however, has two bedrooms, one to sleep in and one for all his toys and games.) Then Harry starts receiving mysterious letters and his life is changed forever. He is whisked away by a beetle-eyed giant of a man and enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The reason: Harry Potter is a wizard! The first book in the “Harry Potter” series makes the perfect introduction to the world of Hogwarts.
“‘Yeah, size is no guarantee of power,’ said George. ‘Look at Ginny.'”
