Where did I get it?Bought it at my local book store 🙂

When a brilliant changeling researcher is kidnapped, DarkRiver sentinel Mercy, a cat, and SnowDancer lieutenant Riley, a wolf, must work together to track the young man-before his shadowy captors decide he’s no longer useful. Along the way, the two dominants may find that submitting to one another uncovers not just a deadly conspiracy, but a passion so raw that it’ll leave them both branded by fire

Pretty typical romance cover. I swear this book is more than just romance though.

Initial Thoughts

I’m really loving the whole idea of this series. I love that it’s more than just a romance book, though romance is a huge part of it. The different races are really unique and I seriously can’t get enough of them.

My New BFF

I loved Mercy. She’s exactly what a good female character should be. She’s strong and independent while still being a little girly sometimes. I’m hoping that she becomes the alpha in the pack eventually. She’d make a really great leader and she’s fantastic at helping out the other pack members. It was really nice reading about a female changeling this time too. She’s got tons of emotions unlike the Psy but she’s a lot more fierce than the male changelings. I hope we get to see her character more.

My Crush

Riley is probably one of the yummiest male characters so far. I love his relationship with Mercy because they’re both such intense people. There was just so much action between them! They were always making hilarious comments about each other which made it that much more fun. It was especially fun watching them figure out if they should be together. I guess wolves and cats aren’t supposed to be together? But they are still human in the end.

Writing Style

My favourite part about the writing in this book is the world building. The author incorporates our regular human world into this world full of supernatural beings. She’s got a set way of how everything works and sticks to it. The Psy are all reserved and emotionless and the changelings fierce and full of emotion. Two completely different races but they’re starting to work together and it works out really nice.

The romance is also really intense and I love that about this book. There’s no subtle looks and flirting, it’s an all or nothing kind of romance. There is lots of sexual content since it’s mainly a romance book but I don’t mind it. It’s not a fifty shades sort of romance.

Closing Thoughts

I’m really loving this series. The next book never seems to disappoint me. I can’t wait to see who we meet next. I usually hate it when all the books are in different points of views but this author still gives us glimpses of the old characters and that’s what makes me stick around. This is a series I’ll be finishing for sure.
