Unicorn [yoo-ni-kawrn]

1. a mythical creature resembling a horse, with a single horn in the centerof its forehead: often symbolic of chastity or purity.

2. a heraldic representation of this animal, in the form of a horse with alion’s tail and with a long, straight, and spirally twisted horn.

I can’t say a specific unicorn but there’s a book called Zombies vs Unicorns that has tons of unicorn short stories! It’s seriously a really great book and I think everyone should read it. Just a warning though, there was a really creepy unicorn story that I was kind of freaked out by but that could just be me. Also I loved the feel of this whole book. Basically these authors are either on team zombie or team unicorn and they write a story for the team they’re on. At the end I decided that I’m 100% team unicorn!

zombies vs unicorns

Summary: It’s a question as old as time itself: which is better, the zombie or the unicorn? In this anthology, edited by Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier (unicorn and zombie, respectively), strong arguments are made for both sides in the form of short stories. Half of the stories portray the strengths–for good and evil–of unicorns and half show the good (and really, really bad-ass) side of zombies. Contributors include many bestselling teen authors, including Cassandra Clare, Libba Bray, Maureen Johnson, Meg Cabot, Scott Westerfeld, and Margo Lanagan. This anthology will have everyone asking: Team Zombie or Team Unicorn?

A hard one to write about but unicorns are always fun! Any other suggestions? Happy reading!

  1. There is a book I read when I was young… I can barely remember it now, and it is maddening, because I loved it so much! Something about a unicorn in a cave… not The Last Unicorn (which is also a great book), but something… similar… UGH!
