Chloe from The Summoning

It’s been a while since I read this book but it was my first time reading anything by Kelley Armstrong so I sort of remember it. I do remember Chloe being a great character with some unusual skills. It was fun that Chloe herself didn’t really know what was going on with her so we got to experience all these unusual things with her. I really liked how the author made something as dark as a necromancer become such a gentle and lovable character. I thought Chloe was an interesting twist on all the other dark and evil necromancer characters out there. Definitely give this book a try.

the summoning

Summary: My name is Chloe Saunders and my life will never be the same again.

All I wanted was to make friends, meet boys, and keep on being ordinary. I don’t even know what that means anymore. It all started on the day that I saw my first ghost – and the ghost saw me.

Now there are ghosts everywhere and they won’t leave me alone. To top it all off, I somehow got myself locked up in Lyle House, a “special home” for troubled teens. Yet the home isn’t what it seems. Don’t tell anyone, but I think there might be more to my housemates than meets the eye. The question is, whose side are they on? it’s up to me to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House…before its skeletons come back to haunt me.

Another character type we don’t see very often. I want more necromancers! For anyone who is interested, the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong has a few necromancers as well.

P.S. – Rosie Amber has a similar post on her blog today, go check it out! Happy reading!

  1. These are great characters, there’s one in Charles Yallowitz series Legends of Windermere and the book I’m featuring today on my blog Marked for Magic has some summoning of dark entities in it. Give your blog an extra shout out on my own post today
