I kind of stretched this post today. B was a surprisingly hard letter to come up with something. The basilisk is a pretty cool creature though! He’d be quite the deadly pet! It’s kind of cool that he just slithers around the school petrifying people. How is he not seen?! He’s probably one of my favourite monsters from the series. Probably one of the deadliest too.

“Oh well… I’d just been thinking, if you had died, you’d have been welcome to share my toilet.”

Summary: Harry Potter can’t wait for his holidays with the dire Dursleys to end. But a small, self-punishing house-elf warns Harry of mortal danger awaiting him at Hogwarts. Returning to the castle nevertheless, Harry hears a rumour about a Chamber of Secrets, holding unknown horrors for wizards of Muggle parentage. Now someone is casting spells that turn people to stone, and a terrible warning is found painted on the wall. The chief suspect – always in the wrong place – is Harry. But something much more terrifying has yet to be unleashed.

    • It’s one of my favourite “monsters” in the book. I loved how only Hermione could figure out what it was. I’m still confused how it got around without being seen though! Haha!
