GRACELING REALM 1-3 by Kristen Cashore
About GRACELING BOOK 1 (taken from goodreads.com)
In a world where people born with an extreme skill—called a Grace—are feared and exploited, Katsa carries the burden of the skill even she despises: the Grace of killing. She lives under the command of her uncle Randa, King of the Middluns, and is expected to execute his dirty work, punishing and torturing anyone who displeases him.
When she first meets Prince Po, who is Graced with combat skills, Katsa has no hint of how her life is about to change.
She never expects to become Po’s friend.
She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace—or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away…a secret that could destroy all seven kingdoms with words alone.
Review of GRACELING REALM
I absolutely love this series. I love how many question I was asking during this series. Moslty what is going to happen but there were lots of things I was asking during this series.
I loved all the characters in every book. Katsa and Fire were similar I find just because they were more so fighters but I liked how different Bitterblue was from the others. I love all the male characters too, who wouldn’t though. I also really liked the bad guys in the series too. Every character had so much detail into them and it made them really realistic for me. I also liked how the author wasn’t afraid to not make the characters perfect. Things happened to the characters that weren’t so good and they just had to push through it.
I especially loved the world the author created. I liked the idea that some people get like a super hero trait. I also liked how realistic it was and that the more people you had with these traits, the more powerful you were. Because realistically that’s how it would go down. I liked how we saw different parts of the world, like Katsa’s land and Fire’s land. Both were really different but the same.
Now the story. It was crazy. I loved everything about it. Each book was different but all geared towards the same goals and whatnot. I loved the little bit of romance in each book as well. I really looked forward to those romance parts. I really wanted the characters to be involved with each other.
I’m actually really hoping for a fourth book. You never know right?
